How To Wear UGGs

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Okay, I know it sounds looney because you and I know how to wear UGG Boots. But, I get enough of these questions (since I own a store that sells sheepskin boots) that I think it’s time to mention this subject. And men, you too should also wear UGG boots because they look so laid-back. Just look how cool this guy looks in his UGGs. Follow these steps to total winter comfort:

  1. Buy a pair of UGGs in a neutral color, such as chestnut or chocolate brown.  Black will work if you must have it but I think the browns look great with just about everything.
  2. Tuck your jeans into your boots.  Skinny works best but straight leg is also good.  For bootcut jeans just wear them over the boot.
  3. Add your winter coat, colorful scarf and gloves and even a cute knit cap.  This looks good on any age.
  4. Walk to the nearest latte stand for an eggnog latte and a chocolate chip cookie. Men, walk to the nearest bar and get a beer.

UGG Boot Tips

  • Please waterproof your boots before wearing them.  Make sure it’s designed specifically for sheepskin and suede.  Spray three light coats, making sure to let it dry between coats.  This step keeps them cleaner too.
  • You don’t have to wear socks with your UGGs.  But if you want to be sure to wear thin socks, not heavy hiking socks.
  • UGG boots are not designed to fit like regular shoes.  They are usually lose in the heel.  It’s why they’re so comfortable.  Think of them as outdoor slippers.
  • Don’t forget to walk to the nearest latte stand for an eggnog latte and a chocolate chip cookie. Men, walk to the nearest bar and get a beer.

Tiz The Season for Fake UGGs

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

Yes, it’s that time of the year again: FUGG Season. Fake UGGs. Ebay and Google are full of fake UGG boots and slippers. The unfortunate reality is that there are, for a lot of the luxury brands, counterfeit products.

Last year a woman came in to Snow River just before Christmas. She had bought a pair of UGG Boots, Classic Short in black.  She thought they “didn’t look right.”  And she was right.  They were poor imitations.  The leather was cowhide instead of sheepskin and the lining felt like fake instead of soft sheepskin fleece.  Even the box wasn’t correct.  She had been desperate for a pair of black Classic Short UGG Boots for her daughter’s Christmas present and couldn’t find them in the size needed at any dealer.  So she paid $150 for a pair off eBay. And they were fake. She lost money she couldn’t afford to lose and her daughter got a pair of subpar boots with no warranty.

If you are looking for UGG boots and UGG slippers on-line make sure that you shop at an authorized dealer like Snow River.  We’ve been in the business of selling genuine UGGs since 1985 and trust us, we know the product!

Google is now working with UGG Australia to eliminate them from their search pages, but, like cockroaches, they multiply quickly.  If you look at some of these sites you’ll see that they’re written in Chinglish and are full of errors.  Also, there will either be no physical address or no U.S. number.

If you are in the market for UGG Boots, there are a few things you can do to make sure they are real and not fake. Take a look at the website address, does the domain name include the word “UGG” or does it contain the style name in the domain address, for example, “Dakota”, if so, there is a good possibility they are counterfeit.

Something you should also know, UGG Australia does NOT authorize dealer sales on eBay, trade boards or Amazon.com. If you purchase on any of those sites you do not get the warranty nor will UGG Australia assist with trying to resolve disputes including issues with PayPal refund requests.

UGGs Moto Chic

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

Have you seen UGGs new motorcyle chic boot, the UGG Kensington boots? I flipped for it just from it’s looks but once I tried it on I had to have it. These boots have a better sole and support than the UGG Classic Short boots. If you live in cold, damp weather like I do, yet want to look cute, this is a great boot. It’s lined in soft sheepskin fleece so it’s toasty warm and the distressed leather uppers ensure better water protection.

ugg_kensingtonTough looking, practical yet femmy cute when paired with leggings, a floral dress and a leather or denim jacket.  I’m so happy to have these moto chic UGG boots.  They work great under jeans, tucked into jeans and with skirts.  I think I’m going to be wearing these for many, many years.

UGG’s For Fall

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Fall has definitely begun up here in North Idaho, and as usual, it is spectacularly beautiful. The temperature has cooled down enough in the evening and morning so that the first thing I look for is my warm UGG boots. I use a pair of Classic Short UGG Boots in burnt olive (an old color) as my main house slippers. One of the benefits of this is when I happen to forget to change shoes before I go to town to run errands, so what? I still look alright and my feet are still warm and comfortable. I’ll bet I’m not the only UGG Boots wearer who does this.

Though my burnt olive UGG boots are an old color I am definitely lusting for a new color. Have you seen the new lineup? I think it’s the most colorful selection ever. I love the Pacific blue

which is a beautiful teal color, but Eggplant could win out

as it’s so rich looking and a perfect fall color. And don’t even get me started on all of the Metallic UGG boots !

While grocery shopping this weekend I spotted a cute girl wearing black leggings tucked into a pair of Classic Tall Women’s sand color UGG Boots. When she turned away I saw that there was a big hole in the side of her left boot. It looked as if a puppy had chewed the heck out of it. So thinking quickly, I quietly introduced myself to her and handed her one of my business cards for Snow River, the UGG boots store in town. I told her I understood her love for her UGG Boots but if she’d like a new pair, I’d give her a discount for them. She laughed and said she would definitely take me up on the offer.

Now you know one of the reasons why many people choose to live in very small towns. The people are friendly.
