Kathy Griffin Loves Her UGG Cardy Boots

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

My husband and I are Kathy Griffin fans and love her D-List show. We couldn’t help notice that she’s been seen wearing black UGG Cardy Boots. Then there was the episode when they were designing the Mag-Let. Kathy says it will be the biggest thing since …. and Tiffany pipes in UGGs. I swear I also saw one of her assistants with a pair too. So, naturally, I think they have good taste when it comes to shoes. I have never owned a pair of Cardys because in North Idaho it’s so cold eight months out of the year that I need to wear UGG Classic Boots because of the sheepskin lining. Then for two months I wear UGG sneakers and it’s on to UGG sandals for the two months of true summer here.

Now I only hope I at least get some ripe tomatoes this year.  Summer began wet and cold and I couldn’t plant until June 15th.  One of my many quirks is that I feel I need to celebrate summer by trying to grow some tomatoes.  I’ve been doing this for decades.  Even while living in apartments with balconies,  I always had one tomato plant in a pot.

It’s Always UGG Season

Fortunately for the east coast, winter will soon be over. But that doesn’t mean you have to stop wearing UGGs. I’ve been wearing my new UGG Evera sneaker and LOVE LOVE LOVE it ! It’s easily the most comfortable sneaker I’ve ever owned. I got mine in the chestnut logo leather. It’s a dark gold or bronze metallic and it looks great with dark denim or chinos.

But as always with UGGs, there’s an alternative comfort shoe if the vintage-chic casual of this sneaker isn’t your style.

The UGG Kalama sandal is the next shoe I’m buying.  It’s a slide and it fits like a dream.  It’s got that memory foam footbed on a high-quality rubber sole.  I can wear this shoe all day without my feet getting tired.  My body gets tired, but not my feet.  I’m also giving a pair to my 82 year old mom.  She has arthritis in one foot and always finds the UGG shoes easy to wear.

Not Just Your Mother’s UGGs

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

Last week while visiting San Francisco with my daughter, I saw a mother and two of her daughter’s shopping in a famous department store. They were all wearing UGG boots. The mom had on a pair of chestnut classic short UGG boots, one daughter was wearing classic tall chocolate UGG boots (with jeans tucked in) and the youngest was wearing classic short gray UGG boots. I thought, “hmmm, there’s about 25 years here between the mom and the youngest, yet they’re all wearing UGGs. ” What that told me was something I’ve always known but it’s always interesting to see. And that something is that UGGs are not a fad. They aren’t going away. So all you people out there who hate UGG boots, who think they’re ugly and wish they would go away … Get over it ! Have you seen those ads for jeans labeled “Not Your Mother’s Jeans”? Well, I thought of that when I saw the mom and her daughters. Not your mother’s UGGs.

Then my daughter and I an uncontrollable urge for more of the fabulous lattes from the little hole-in-the-wall Italian coffee shop we found. So off we went. I, by the way, was wearing a pair of UGG Bettey shoes. I wore them all over the city for three days, never got blisters or even noticed my feet. That’s pretty comfortable in my book.
