Did you know that the UGG Metropolitan Collection has one style of UGG boots done in three different heights? This was news to me when I noticed it but it certainly made sense. The UGGs in this collection are the UGG Roslynn boots, UGG Kenly boots and UGG Greenfield boots. These boots feature UGG’s trademarked Silkee Suede uppers that are already Scotchgard treated for you. That’s like adding some some winterizing to your boots. BUT – you should still spray your suede boots with UGG Water and Stain Repellent regularly. The three UGG boots I’m highlighting here are simple, sleek and sophisticated flat boots with full sheepskin linings. There’s an inside zipper for easy on and off and they come in four good colors: black, chestnut, espresso and gray. The gray is one of the prettiest gray colors that UGG has done in a long time. That is, if you don’t count the terrific charcoal grays in the Cardy line.
UGG Roslynn is the short boot in this collection. It’s shaft height is 8″. Perfect under pants.

The mid height boot is called the UGG Kenly. It’s shaft height is about 12 1/2″. Good with pants and skirts.

The last and tallest boot in the UGG Metropolitan collection is the UGG Greenfield. It measures 14 1/4″ tall. Great with skirts and leggings.

With the Metropolitan Collection, UGG® continually strives to create fun fashion forward styles each season. The results of this dedication to excellence are showcased in this collection. This collection features a wide range of styles that hone in on fresh, young, fashion forward designs. The boots of this collection emulate true UGG® design and craftsmanship while maintaining casual elegance.

My feet lived in a pair of fuscia UGGs this summer. Yeah, yeah. I know fall is upon us and summer is a distant memory. But I didn’t think of this blog until just now as I was going through some summer pictures. My UGGs of choice were the UGG Tasmina flip-flops in that gorgeous fuscia color. They took me from Seattle to Little Torch Key, down in the Key West area. And here’s a picture of the bar we cooled off in each evening. And it would have been perfect except for the nasty little invisible sand gnats which left us scratching like a hound with fleas and our ankles covered with red bites.

But now the weather has cooled off and as I write this blog, I’m wearing my newest UGG slippers. They’re the UGG Coquette slippers in felt gray. I’ve previously worn two pairs of UGG Cozy II slippers to shreds so I needed to get a new pair this year. But guess what? My last old pair of UGG Cozy II slippers are still downstairs in the shoe rack by the back door. I slip them on to walk my dog down the 1/2 mile dirt road from our house to the mailbox. As long as the road is dry, it works for me. But man, those slippers are looking dirty, tired and ready for a burial. And since I love my latest UGG slippers, here’s a picture of me wearing them as I write.

But the UGGs I really want now are the UGG Cozy Knit Slippers. With their cozy-looking cable sweater knit uppers, just looking at them makes me feel warm and cozy. But which color do you think will go best with a camouflage Snuggie?

I’ve got news for you, UGGs are not just for the young. They’re also for the young at heart, no matter what your age. Since the classic (basic) UGG boots have been around now for over 30 years, they aren’t going away. Once you get over the notion that they’re ugly, your boot world expands into the realm of warm and comfortable footwear. Aaaah, bliss. No blisters, corns or bunions from a boot.

I get older women asking what they can wear them with. The simple answer is — EVERYTHING. Take a page from the younger girls and celebrities who take UGGs out of the fashion box by pairing them with spring dresses to summer shorts. They aren’t fashion shy, that’s for sure. That’s not my style, but basically, you can wear them with any of your usual casual clothing. You don’t need to go buy anything new to wear them with. You probably have plenty of stuff in your closet already – jeans, leggings, sweat pants – it’s all good.
The best answer is to wear your UGGs with lots of attitude! Life is too short to worry about what other people will think of your fashion choices. Besides, what I can tell from viewing New York fashion week is that anything goes. And if it doesn’t go, that’s must be haute couture.
If you want cute UGG Boots that are guaranteed to draw looks, compliments, envy and complaints, get these new darlings: the UGG Sheepskin Cuff boots. Personally, I think it’s wa-aay cuter than most of the Jimmy Choo UGG boots and much cheaper too! Pair it skinny jeans or leggings and that most important accessory of all — LOTS of ATTITUDE !

I usually rave about UGG Boots, but today I’m feeling pretty good about my new UGG Lexi slippers. I have an old pair of UGG Cozy II slippers which are on their second pair of UGG insoles. Then a few weeks ago I snagged a pair of felt gray UGG Coquette slippers to replace them. But then I saw the UGG Lexi and thought it’s so cute with it’s sneaker sole. Had to have them. I bought them in black and wore them out of the store with my boot-cut denim jeans. After all, I was only going from the store to my car, then home. On the way home I remembered I was out of cat food. The canned kind. With three cats at home and it being dinner time, dry food isn’t enough. They are accustomed to a bit of wet also. So I went into Walmart sporting my black Lexi slippers. I kept my sunglasses on to see if anyone noticed I was wearing my slippers. NO! Not one person even glanced at my black fur collared slippers. What’s wrong with those people?
And has everyone seen the UGG – Choo boots that are out now? Or at least they can be pre-orderd. I was thinking I would hate all of them because I wasn’t thrilled with Nicki H’s boots. But I actually found two pair I would wear. First is the MANDAH with two-toned studding. Plenty of bling here. And it’s a mere $795. I’m assuming that’s for two boots, not one.
And if money truly were no matter for me and I had a few less brain cells, I would absolutely HAVE to get the blue zebra studded UGG KAIA Boots. At $595 – they are a real steal. Really, after these, what else is there to buy for your feet? And we all know I am full up on Louboutin and Atwood pumps. And who the heck picked these names? What do they really mean in Swahili? Probably something like “stupid buyer”.

I always love it when I find Hollywood celebrities rocking a great pair of UGG Boots. Have you seen these cute pictures of Kate Hudson rocking her UGG Classic Tall boots in gray? This cute picture was found in Glamour magazine in the July 2010 issue. I think it’s on page 56 if my memory is working today. How cute is this look? The trendy, fabulous, floral print romper with a pair of UGG Boots looks great, don’t you agree? I wear UGGs in the Spring because the weather in North Idaho is still cold. It doesn’t really matter whether you live in Los Angeles or Boston, if you haven’t tried a pretty floral romper or dress with your UGG boots, you should!

You can transition this floral romper or a floral dress into early fall by adding leggings, a jacket and a warm scarf. There are some other UGG Boots that would work with this look. Have you seen the new UGG Retro Cargo boot? It has a stripe up the side and a functional pocket. And of course, it’s filled with that warm, snuggly sheepskin fleece. Another UGG boot that would look so cute with this look is the UGG Classic Cardy boots. I’m specifically thinking of the new ones that are flecked with metallic threads. I love-love this in gray with silver metallic. It’s just enough to catch the light and certainly spark some interest!

After checking out the new UGGs in the Surf line, I just got my UGG Gael Clogs from Snow River and haven’t taken them off. I wore the wooden clogs in the ’70s and am not about to revisit them but I love the comfort of clogs and wedges. So the UGG Gael clog works perfectly for me. And since I’m only 5′, the 2 1/2″ lift I get means I don’t have to hem new jeans. The Gael is from the UGG Surf line which has the cork infused rubber soles with memory foam footbeds.

I’d say that about 80% of the women who try on anything from this line in our store end up wearing them right out the door. These are the shoes that need no breaking-in period.
Oh yeah, we also have a few more new UGGs in the Surf line: the UGG Kana clogs, UGG Oleander shoes and the UGG Caspia boots. The Oleander is a slip-on shoe with cute D-ring detailing while the Kana is the clog version with just a slight heel. The Caspia is a short boot replacing the popular UGG Cove boots. You can’t go wrong with any of them.
These UGG shoes and UGG boots are perfect for fall. Wear them with socks, leggings or pants.

Fortunately for the east coast, winter will soon be over. But that doesn’t mean you have to stop wearing UGGs. I’ve been wearing my new UGG Evera sneaker and LOVE LOVE LOVE it ! It’s easily the most comfortable sneaker I’ve ever owned. I got mine in the chestnut logo leather. It’s a dark gold or bronze metallic and it looks great with dark denim or chinos.

But as always with UGGs, there’s an alternative comfort shoe if the vintage-chic casual of this sneaker isn’t your style.
The UGG Kalama sandal is the next shoe I’m buying. It’s a slide and it fits like a dream. It’s got that memory foam footbed on a high-quality rubber sole. I can wear this shoe all day without my feet getting tired. My body gets tired, but not my feet. I’m also giving a pair to my 82 year old mom. She has arthritis in one foot and always finds the UGG shoes easy to wear.

Last week I made a mistake when I went to a trade show and didn’t bring a pair of comfortable UGG boots. My feet became sore from walking but the worst part were the blisters on my little toes. I should have worn my UGGs with all that cozy fleece.
No, I wasn’t stupid enough to wear a new pair of shoes. I wore a pair of Naturalizer sport shoes. And they were broken in, having been worn for about two years. But lordy did my feet suffer without my UGGs. Of course, the upside of the pain was a reason to have a Margarita.
See, last week I went to Las Vegas for the Western Shoe Association show on a buying trip. It’s always fun and interesting to see what the shoe manufacturers are offering for Fall/Winter 2010. We found some great new styles and will be bringing them in towards the end of the year.
But I made a big mistake by not wearing either my UGG Betteys or even my UGG Ultimate Short boots. Both have nice cushioning and have never hurt my toes.
So when I got back home I made sure to order a pair of UGG sneakers which are coming out in the spring. Yes, I said sneakers. They are cute, well cushioned and I’m hoping, very comfortable.

There are plenty of photos around with Amanda Seyfried wearing her UGG boots. Most recently she was in the February issue of Life & Style magazine. They put her next to Kelly Rutherford because they were wearing the same cute sweater. I scanned the photo of Amanda. Can you tell?
Amanda was wearing her chocolate UGG Classic Tall boots with distressed jeans tucked in. She looked young, cute and comfortable. The article thought her outfit fell flat and I disagreed.
Kelly was wearing skinny jeans and 5″ heels. Come on! Give us all a break once in a while. Real women can’t run errands in Louboutin pumps. But if someone gave me a pair of size 9 Louboutin’s, you can bet I would break my neck trying to wear them everywhere !

As with any iconic fashion item, the Chinese knockoffs will follow. And UGG Boots has now made the big-time. UGG Boots are in very good company along side Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and any sterling Tiffany jewelry. There are thousands of websites offering up the fake goods while using actual company pictures to lure the unwary buyer away from their hard-earned money.
UGG boots are made by Deckers Corporation, then sold to US retailers. They are never mailed to a buyer directly from China. Deckers is working hard to shut down the counterfeit sites but it’s hard to stay ahead of them.
I have learned that the top three web servers for fake UGG Boot websites are located in China (duh), the United States (surprise) and Panama.
Fake UGG called UGG 8008 $55
We had a customer try to return a pair of fake UGG Bailey Button boots to our store. The very first thing we noticed was a cardboard hang-tag safety pinned to the boots. Say what? The next eye catching item was the shiny synthetic material (fake fur) lining on the cowhide suede boot. The list of what was wrong with this boot went on and on from there.
The biggest problem with these fake boots is that the websites use the actual UGG pictures to lure the unwary buyer. And if they don’t fit or you have a manufacturing problem with them, they can’t be returned. Also what you get is a boot that would retail in our store for half of what the buyer paid. Actually, we wouldn’t sell the fake UGGs we’ve seen because the linings aren’t natural fleece and we only sell boots with natural sheepskin fleece lining.
One easy way to make sure a faker isn’t stealing your money is to always check the UGGAustralia.com website for a complete list of authorized retailers.
