MLK Weekend Outlook
Snowriver heads into MLK Weekend in excellent shape, with 95% of terrain expected to be open and an impressive 95 inches of snowfall so far this season. Recent storms have delivered strong coverage across both Jackson Creek Summit and Black River Basin, setting up classic mid‑winter conditions throughout the mountain.
Guests can look forward to a wide range of terrain options, from groomed runs to natural snow features, all supported by a deep and durable base. One of the highlights for the weekend will be the Banked Slalom on Voyageur’s Highway, offering a fun and exciting feature that adds to the holiday atmosphere.
With nearly the entire mountain open and winter conditions firmly in place, Snowriver is ready to deliver a memorable MLK Weekend experience.
For those looking to expand their horizons, MLK Weekend also brings exciting opportunities at our partner resorts. Granite Peak will be fully open with banked slalom features and excellent snow coverage, while Lutsen Mountains anticipates opening a large portion of its expansive terrain, including potential return of areas that haven’t been open in recent seasons. With a Legendary Plus Pass or Flex Pass, guests can travel between Snowriver, Granite Peak, and Lutsen Mountains and enjoy the best conditions across all three destinations.

Snowriver Resort Conditions Report | Friday January 16th, 2026
Winter is settling in nicely at Snowriver Resort today with solid conditions across the mountain and snow in the forecast. We’re expecting 3 to 11 inches of new snowfall between today and tomorrow at noon, setting things up for some great skiing and riding.
Looking ahead, the USSA Shelly Glover Race will be taking place Friday through Monday. As a result, there are a few terrain impacts to note today:

At Jackson Creek Summit, Borealis and F.I.S. runs are closed

At Black River Basin, Starboard and Portside are closed
