Role Overview:

A ski resort custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of all resort facilities, including base lodges, restrooms, and common areas, by performing tasks like sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning bathrooms, and restocking supplies, often requiring flexibility to work during peak hours, weekends, and holidays, while adhering to high standards of sanitation and guest service.

Key responsibilities:

  • Regularly clean and sanitize all public areas including floors, restrooms, hallways, stairwells, furniture, windows, and doors.
  • Empty trash cans and recycling bins throughout the resort, transporting waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Clean and disinfect bathroom fixtures, stalls, sinks, mirrors, and replenish paper products.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors as needed, including carpet cleaning in designated areas.
  • Shovel snow and ice from walkways and entrances during winter conditions
  • Report any supplies inventory shortages to the supervisor.
  • Properly operate cleaning equipment like vacuums, floor scrubbers, and trash compactors.
  • Identify and report any maintenance issues to the facilities team
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests and addressing any cleaning-related concerns
  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods
  • Attention to Detail: Commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards
  • Reliability and Punctuality: Ability to work consistent hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Teamwork: Willingness to collaborate with other staff members
  • Basic Cleaning Knowledge: Familiarity with cleaning procedures and chemicals
